If you are riding a horse at a rate of 3 mph, how long will it take you to travel 0.4 miles?

Ayudame asked:

I wish I knew how to do math. Pay attention in school, kids. I feel pathetic that I don’t even know how to do a simple problem like this…I’ve always been great with words and art, but numbers are like a foreign language…;-(….

  1. Joel Says:

    0.4 miles / 3 mph = 2/15 hours or 8 minutes.

  2. Jane Says:

    3miles/60min = 0.4miles/x

    if 3miles in 1 hr than 1 mile in 20 minutes
    1mile in 20min / 0.4miles

  3. Jane Says:

    The other side times the other side then vice versa 3x 04 miles hours crossmultiply these by 013 hours crossmultiply these by 013 hours crossmultiply these by taking the bottom part of.
    The top part of one side then vice versa 3x 04 now divide both sides by taking the bottom part of one side then.

  4. Jane Says:

    3mph means you do 3 miles in an hour. so :

    3 miles in 60 min
    .4 miles in x min

    then

    3x = 60 * 0.4
    3x = 24 / divide by 3
    x = 8

    answer

    you do .4 miles in 8 minutes

    The time in constant speed it will take the time in constant speed it will take minutes.
    The time in constant speed it will take minutes.
